Smithy Industries was established in 1987 and through the years has established itself as the leader in premium bench top machine tools. Smithy delivers superior after sales service to experienced and novice machinists alike. Smithy owners use their tools to make and repair parts in a wide variety of applications. Smithy Industries focuses on designing and building machine tools for small shop manufacturing applications and each Smithy machine delivered to a new owner is “Guaranteed to Pay its Own Way”.

The Early Days

The founders of Smithy Company combined an understanding of the unique needs of small shop manufacturers with strong engineering and design capabilities to develop precision bench top machine tools. At the time Smithy was started, the company principals were operating a John Deere farm machinery dealership. That experience provided the foundation for the building of a strong organization that designs, manufactures, and sells high quality machinery.

The first machines developed were small multipurpose machines that fit small shop and garage settings. Smithy machines are designed to last a lifetime and to provide quality and ease-of-use features for Smithy machine owners. Over time the product line has expanded to include a wide variety of specially designed bench top machine tools for small shop manufacturers and part fabricators.

SmithyCNC - The Future is Now

For several years Smithy owners have encouraged us to develop small bench top CNC machine tools. We have been confident in our ability to design and build quality CNC machine tools for a long time. Developing a high quality CNC control system for small shop settings that had the package of features and functionality that would work for our customers required a significant investment of engineering time and resources. The end result is the EZ-Trol CNC control system. We build our EZ-Trol CNC Control system in the US in order to meet our standards for best engineering practices and to assure a more interactive relationship with the CNC operator.
