Smithy Tapping Head

Description

If you’re doing a lot of tapping, speed-up the process with the Smithy self-feeding tapping head. At the same time, you’ll get a smoother and more accurate tap. Tapping head is self centering to compensate for .005” hole center misalignment. It mounts into the Smithy millhead with a standard arbor (arbor sold separately). Ultra-sensitive clutch prevents tap breakage. Includes two collets, break-rod and adjustment wrenches. Two sizes available, 46-550 #6-1/2” (3-12mm) capacity, recommended max speed 1500 RPM use with JT33 arbor, and 46-555 #10-3/4” (5-16mm) capacity, recommended max speed 1000 RPM use with JT3 arbor.
