![]() 3 HP Servo Spindle Drive Increased level of spindle power and control Good power to machine weight ratio puts increased power into your machining projects. Encoder on servo spindle drive motor assures greater control, better machining results and documentable results. The only bench top CNC milling system that can do rigid tapping. |
![]() Powerful Mesa Drive on Spindle Efficient Power Transmission - Speed Range of 60 to 6000 RPM Full torque available throughout speed range. Industrial level performance allows you to drill larger holes at low speeds and automatically change speeds to work with smaller precision tools at high speeds. |
![]() Synchronous Timing Belt Drive Single range, efficient, high torque power transmission Maximizes smooth power transmission from drive motor to spindle. No belt slipping with geared teeth on belt. No need to change belts to meet the full speed range capacity of the mill. Easily and automatically changes speeds for different program operations. Very quiet and smooth operation. |
![]() High Torque/High Speed Axis Motor Drives High Rapid Rates of 250 IPM Most bench top CNC control systems on the market today have axis motor drives that operate at 80 Volts or less. Stepper motors actually need higher voltages to develop sufficient torque at higher speeds. The 170 Volt drives on Smithy machines allow for higher rapid traverse rates. Specifically - the EZ-Trol system can reach rapid feed rates of 250IPM, more than twice the rate of other bench top systems. |
![]() Powerful High Resolution Axis motors and Drives Smoother Motion and Better Finishes State of the art high resolution stepper motors have three windings (or phases) instead of two, and 300 full steps per revolution instead of 200 which results in less torque ripple. Additionally the motor drives split each full motor step into 50 partial, or "micro" steps vs. the 10 micro steps typical in competing machines. The net result is a significant (5:1) improvement in motion smoothness, and therefore surface finish. Our tests showed that machine operations were very enthusiastic about the results they achieved with these high resolution axis drives. |
![]() Cartridge Spindle Head Design Assures rigidity and accuracy at higher speeds State of the art design with highly efficient spindle bearing positioning and weight to torque ratio guarantees higher accuracy than traditional small mill designs. Based on designs that have become the industry standard for high precision industrial milling machines. Angular contact, lifetime greased bearings provide maximum accuracy and minimum maintenance. |
![]() Spindle/Drawbar Lock Simplifies tool changes Quickly reposition drawbar lock handle to lock drawbar in place before making manual tool changes. Tool change is much easier and faster. |
![]() Large Table with Four 5/8” T-slots 12” X 40” table provides Bridgeport sized capacity Largest capacity bench top bed mill provides a stable and expansive surface, providing a wide variety of options when mounting work pieces. Standard 5/8" size T-Slots accept a variety of fixturing. Large table work surface and well placed T-slots allows for easy set-up of multiple work piece machining programs. |
![]() Linear Bearings on Z Axis, Turcite on X & Y Axes, P4 Standard Ballscrews Highest Accuracies found on Bench Top Tools Linear bearing guideway on Z axis offers maximum accuracy and smooth Z axis movement of the mill head. Turcite embedded dovetail ways on the X and Y axes provide industrial level performance for table movement. Pre Loaded Class 4 Precision Hardened and Ground Ball Screws on the X, Y and Z axes provide for long compenent life, accurate positioning and improved repeatability. |
