 Powerful "High Resolution" Stepper Axis Drives Higher Precision and Smoother Finishes State of the art “high resolution” stepper drives have an extra winding which results in less torque ripple. This means there will be more steps per rotation (50:1 compared to 10:1 for other bench top systems). The net result is that you will get significant improvements in precision and torque compared to traditional two phase systems. “High Res” steppers require a higher voltage control system – which means higher cost and complexity. The extra winding and higher voltage required for these steppers adds to the system cost, but our tests showed that machine operators were very enthusiastic about the results they achieved with these “high resolution” steppers. |
