"Quality equal to an $8,000 industrial machine"
I'm a machinist at Cummins Diesel. I do everything from engine block machining to making tools. When I decided to purchase a milling machine for my home shop, I was skeptical that , on a budget, I wouldn't find a machine as accurate as the on at work.I purchased a Smithy CX-329. It's just as accurate, if not better than, the unit at work at one-fifth the cost. I made test pieces on both machines and presented them to our quality engineer. Both were within .0005. Surface finish and quality of cuts were flawless. Complements from a former skeptic: you have an excellent product.

The Fastest Quick Draw in the World
Bob Munden "The Fastest Quick Draw in the World" uses a Smithy lathe and milling machines to build and redesign the guns he uses in his shows. Bob puts on fast draw shows all over the world and has even been recognized by "Ripley's Believe it or Not" and "The Guinness Book of World Records" as the fastest draw in the world.
Bob states that he makes some of the finest single-action pistols in the world. He explains that due to the unique nature of his shows, his guns must be precision made to near perfection to withstand the speed and accuracy, which he needs for his demonstrations.
Bob says, "My guns must be made to the accuracy and precision comparable to that of an Indy Race Car. Like an Indy Race Car, my guns have to withstand the high tech stress and precise shooting that I put them through. The Smithy equipment that I have provides me the ability to make and modify my guns to meet those demands. I require the best equipment to make the best guns and the Smithy does that for me."
