"City Government Saved $6,550"
"If I was stranded on a deserted island and I was only allowed to take one thing, it would be my Smithy. After 18 months of planning, fabricating and machining in the basement it was time to bring the Jenny out for inspection to register her as an experimental aircraft.I used my Smithy for numerous projects around house and at work. There was an instance that I convinced the city recreation department where I works to purchase a Smithy. It took a while to convince them but after saving the city $6,550 on a new sump pump they gave in. The plumber told us that we needed a new sump pump and it would cost the city about $7,000. I told my boss that I was pretty sure I could fix it on my Smithy. He probably figured he had nothing to lose at that point. I fixed it for about $450.00. I have also used my Smithy to make some fittings for a swimming pool, a landscaping box, caster wheels for a tractor and even used it to help remodel the bathroom by fixing the track mechanism on the shower door."

"Prototypes and Models"
"Smithy's Midas brings many advantages for businesses, and several owners have built their home business around the Midas. This machine enables you to work in areas of research and development, building your own prototypes and models, or making molds, jigs, forms and special tools. Maintenance work for business can also be done using the Midas. So, instead of hiring out to repair or make parts, do it yourself with your Smithy machine. I built a machine shop around the Midas, it does everything for me, I can mill, drill, and lathe all on one machine. It greatly increased cost-effectiveness."Randal S., CA
"Accurate and Affordable Machine"
"The Smithy is the only machine equipped with what I wanted for less than $3,000. It is very accurate and affordable. The only limitation it has is the user's imagination. I use my Smithy Midas 1220 XL for all sorts of things including gunsmithing, repairs, car parts, and projects for the wife. I have been able to save thousands of dollars building my own parts for cars, guns, vacuum cleaners, saws, toys, pumps and decorative projects that my wife designed."BG Bufford., VT
"Crashing is Expensive!"
"I'm into model helicopters - you crash - then you have to rebuild, and the Smithy saves me money on rebuilding. I've been a machinist for 43 years, and Smithy fits my needs. My Smithy has always come through like a champ and maintained the tolerances I need. It's a great machine and can't beat for the Price."Steam Machines Inc., TN
"One Project saved him several thousand dollars"
"I am a well drilling contractor and a part-time knife maker. I use my Smithy in my drilling business for making bushings and special fittings, etc. I used it mostly in my knifemaking hobby for making small bushings for my folding knives, milling guards, bolsters etc. I made a grinding machine for my shop with my Smithy which saved me several thousand dollars, my machine has paid for itself."Robert D., CA
"Midas Takes Him to Victory Lane"
"I run about 20 races a year at the track and with four go-karts, we keep our Smithy running too. We work on rims and clean up the heads on motors. We also use mandrels to spin the heads and clean up the carbon. We save time and money with our Smithy, time better spent in victory lane. If something's off, we take a cut and make it true, I use my Smithy to good advantage in my go-karts."John L., NJ
"Scope Builder Zooms in on Midas Value"
"I wanted to have really nice telescopes, and they're expensive. The one I use now cost me $600 or $700 to make with my Midas. If I had bought it, I would have paid $3,000. And even if you figure in the time it took to build it, I saved a lot. I've built four telescopes so far with my Smithy, and I'm working on my fifth. I've placed a number of orders with Smithy after I bought my machine, and I never had to wait more than four or five days to get anything. The Smithy video sent was another big help. A couple of times I went back and watched parts of it again. If I still had a question, the service reps were always ready to assist me and were enthusiastic about what I was doing. It made me glad I had gone with a Smithy. If I had bought a used machine at a tool auction, who would answer my questions? I'm sure there are other people like me, with no machining experience, who might be a little intimidated chucking up their first big hunk of metal, but the things I've built have come out very professional looking. The very first thing I made on my Smithy out of a piece of raw aluminum looked so good, it just gleamed."

"Farmer keeps Equipment In the field with a Smithy"
"I use my Midas for repairing farm machines tractors, combines, and bailers primarily. If we lose a shaft, we get some cold-rolled steel and cut the keyways or build up the shaft and turn it down to the proper. We use the Smithy to turn drill spindles when they break. A new one costs $348 . On a Smithy, with time and stock, we're looking at maybe $70. That's a considerable savings. Plus, we can use the machine right away, when you order new spindles it takes two days."
