ADJUSTMENT OF THE GN 1300 SERIES 110 VOLT SYSTEM

The adjustment wheels on  the controller should be  reset  so  the arrows match  the diagram below and perform the fine adjustments as shown.
With the power switch turned off and the unit unplugged, make the following initial adjustments
1. Turn the speed control dial to the slowest setting (full counter clockwise).

NOTE: The following is to be done with the unit plugged in and running so please use extreme caution. Use a non-metallic tool such as a Popsicle stick or a plastic knife to make adjustments.

2. Plug the unit in and turn on the key switch.
3. Turn the MIN control clockwise until a slight rotation of the motor is obtained.
4. Turn the IR slowly clockwise until a surging of the motor is noted.  Now turn the IR counterclockwise until the surging stops.
Settings are now complete and the unit is ready for use. When the power is turned on, the motor will start to run in about 6 seconds. This time lag is normal and varies with the speed selector dial position at startup.

GN-1300 Series Switch Wiring

On 220v (GN-1324-I, GN-1340-I) machines only, both leads coming in from the plug and leading to the controller are Live (+).   On the 110v machines, the lower lead from the plug should be live (+) and the upper one should be neutral (-) It is recommended that you double check the polarity (+ or -) of the wires with a volt meter when changing any electrical component.
ADJUSTMENT OF THE GN 1300 SERIES 220 VOLT SYSTEM

CONVERSION OF THE GN 1300 SERIES TO 220 VOLT SYSTEM

To run the GN1300 on 220 volts you will need to change the motor, change the switch, change the plug, and reset the control module. The same control module is good for 110 or 220.

1. The 90 volt DC motor must be replaced with a 180 volt motor.
2. The current switch has a 110 volt relay installed. The entire switch can be changed or you can change just the relay portion of the switch.
3. The 110 volt plug should be removed and install a 15 amp or a 20 amp 220 volt plug. Use the white and black leads of the chord for the two hot leads and the green chord for the neutral.
4. The adjustment wheels on the controller should be reset so the arrows match the diagram below and perform the fine adjustments as shown.

SAFETY WARNING
Before connecting the tool to a power source (receptable, outlet, etc.) be sure the voltage  supplied is about the same as that specified on the nameplate of the tool. If ine says 220V and the other says 110V then there will be complications. Never try to plug a 220V into a 110V outlet or the other way around. The plug and outlet have completely different shapes. This is because a power source with a voltage greater than that specified on the tool can result in a SERIOUS INJURY to the user-as well as damage to the tool. If in doubt, DO NOT PLUG IN THE TOOL. Using a power source with voltage (110V) less than the nameplate rating (220V) is harmful to the motor.

  • Instruction
  1. First turning the potentiometer to minimum in counter-clockwise direction, and turn off the reset switch.
  2. Input the 220V or 110V AC power, and turn up the potentiometer gradually, this time, the motor begins to have output, and turning forward, when turning the switch to reverse position,  the speed of motor gradually slows down to zero, then the direction of motor turns to revrse, the speed of motor begins to speed up to the original speed.
  3. If the motor is overloading when it's working, the motor will stop. Only by pressing the reset button, the motor will turn to normal again.
